That’s all you need to do to disable the notch on your Nokia 5.1 Plus.

HMD Global’s Nokia 5.1 Plus is a great device which offers decent features for the value and while the notch does affect the experience, at least there’s an option to get rid of it. Unfortunately, the setting won’t remove the notch traces completely as a small portion is still visible if you look at the display closely.

It’s also important to understand that there’s no guarantee that the phone will deliver a better experience when using old third-party apps with notch disabled.

The notch

In case you don’t know, the notch is the top part of the display which carries the front-facing camera and sensors while delivery edge-to-edge experience.

Although Essential was the first brand to market with a notch, Apple actually made it bigger and bolder.
